Dynamic compression in lossy compressions could contribute to a more fatiguing listening experience, maybe that's what it is. I'm not sure of the exact science behind it. This was before I was able to pinpoint some actively observable differences between lossless/lossy, and why it was worth the investment for me even though I wasn't able to pass an ABX test on it.
